Highway crash leaves four injured

A dangerous accident occurred on the Sinamale' Bridge highway last night, causing injuries to multiple people.

A car travelling from Male' to Hulhumale' crashed into another car idling on the lane, causing the car to swerve into the motorcycle lane. Four motorcycles on this lane then crashed into the car, leaving several people injured. 

The accident occurred around 12:24am. Those injured in the accident are being treated at Hulhumale' Hospital and IGMH. 

An IGMH Media Official stated that a 31 year old injured in the accident had been brought to the hospital for treatment. He is being treated in the hospital's emergency room, they said, declining to offer details of injuries sustained. 

Four Maldivian men were injured in the accident but details of their injuries are not known as of yet. However, Police have confirmed that two of them have been discharged from hospital after treatment. They cited the hospital and said that the condition of the other two are also steadily improving. 

Vehicles involved in the crash have also been damaged to various extents. A video circulating on social media shows the rear of one car and the front of the other severely damaged. 

Police are investigating the accident.
