Optical shop opened at Addu Hospital

An optical shop was opened today at the Addu Equatorial Hospital.

The shop was inaugurated by Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim during a ceremony held at the hospital located in Hithadhoo.

Although the hospital provided services for eye diseases and vision testing, there was previously no convenient way to obtain spectacles on-site.

Therefore, a hospital official stated that the opening of this shop would provide significant ease.

Addu Hospital stated that the optical shop will be operated in collaboration with IGMH.

The government officially entered the optical business last July. Following the opening of the shop at IGMH, an optical shop was also opened at Hulhumalé Hospital.

Additionally, the amount provided by Aasandha for making spectacles has been increased to MVR 2,000.
