Ruling People's National Congress (PNC) Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Falah has stated last night that the party will claim an 80 percent win in the upcoming Local Council Elections.

Falah shared his prediction during last night's rally in HDh. Kulhudhuffushi, marking the start of campaigns for the party's Local Council Election candidates for the city.

In his speech, Falah said that as President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is a leader who fulfills his pledges, the cooperation of councils is imperative to complete projects started in islands.

Falah is also serving as PNC's Campaign Manager for the Local Council Elections.

He reminded the public that the mark put on ballot papers on April 4 will decide the future they want.

"That day, a decision will be made to move forward for your children, island, city and nation... whether you are a people who want progress or to keep the city as is," Falah said.

Falah praised President Muizzu in his speech, saying his administration is one of development unlike any other seen before.

The Presidential Address delivered in parliament last Thursday clearly demonstrates the development plan he has mapped out for the country, Falah said.

"He explained everything, every project, every area in detail, in a manner that can be understood by everyone. He did not stop at just a simple mention," Falah said.

Falah noted that since the 2008 Constitution came into effect, Kulhudhuffushi Council has always had an opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) majority, asserting that this is now the time for a change.

"Let's elect this PNC team to the council, and test them out. I give you 100 percent guarantee that, with god's grace, this team will be one that, in collaboration with today's government, completes all the work due in this city," Falah said.

Falah went on to say that PNC had even received 'free seats' due to a lack of candidates willing to run on MDP tickets in some constituencies.

"God willing, PNC will achieve an 80 percent win in this election," he asserted.
