First Lady Sajidha Mohamed stated last night that PNC candidates need to be elected during the Local Council Election and Women's Development Committee (WDC) Election in order for the government to achieve its goals.
During the opening ceremony for PNC candidate Ashiyath Alaika Adhnan's (running for the President of the WDC) campaign hub, First Lady Sajidha had inaugurated the hub and spoke at the ceremony, stating members of the WDC are the ones who meet with citizens the most and are the ones who are aware the most regarding their feelings.
The First Lady said that as that is the case, the members of the WDC would be the most pertinent in bringing the citizen's concerns, opinions and the like to the councils.

"Many times, it is easier for me to say what I want to women. It is easier to share. And so I am sure that members of said committee are the ones who know and can see the lifestyle of citizens," said First Lady Sajidha.
The First Lady stated that those who are elected to the WDC need to be individuals who bring the government and the citizens together. She also stated that that can only be done by those who work with the government and if they are also PNC candidates.

"Cast your vote for PNC candidates. Otherwise, cooperating with the government in doing work cannot be done. Only then will we be able to achieve our goals and go down the path we have planned," said the First Lady.
