MIRA publicizes names of those who failed to pay Income Tax

MIRA has urged those who have not yet filed their tax returns to do so and appealed to those who have not paid their taxes to make the payments without delay.

Under the policy for disclosing the names of parties who fail to file tax returns and pay taxes, the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has publicized the names of 25 parties whose unpaid income tax for the year 2024 exceeds MVR 100,000.

According to MIRA’s website, these 25 parties include both companies and individuals.

Parties who failed to pay Income Tax:

  • Cypria Private Limited
  • Duplex Private Limited

  • Flexinc Private Limited
  • I & C Trading Private Limited
  • Ibrahim Habeeb, Kunnaarugasdhoshuge, N. Holhudhoo
  • IMP Private Limited
  • J Brothers Limited
  • Jahu Private Limited

MIRA stated that the information of these parties was disclosed after contacting them via phone and explaining the legal penalties and enforcement measures that would be taken against them.

The authority further noted that additional measures prescribed under MIRA’s enforcement policy to recover taxes and other monies owed to the state will continue to be implemented without discrimination.

Therefore, MIRA has urged those who have not yet filed their tax returns to do so and appealed to those who have not paid their taxes to make the payments without delay.
