President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to fly to Germany next week on an official visit at the invitation of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The President will be visiting Germany from February 9 to 13.
During the visit, President Muizzu will participate in high-level talks with his German counterpart and other senior officials of the German government. According to the President's Office, the discussions will center on a variety of issues of mutual interest.
The President is also set to visit the Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin, where he will be delivering a keynote address on the Maldives' experience in climate change adaptation.
Additionally, the President will be delivering a keynote address at the German Council on Foreign Relations, in which he will focus on the Maldives' perspective on the role of the ocean in foreign policy, the President's Office states.
The trip will also feature a business forum, with business delegates from both countries set to explore possible avenues of collaborative investment.
For this trip, President Muizzu will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Cabinet Ministers and business representatives.
The visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Maldives and Germany, formally established on July 5, 1966.
