Maldives Zakat House has launched a “Fitr Portal” to display information on Fitr Zakat collected in cash.

In a statement published on its website today, Zakat House said the digital platform was launched in preparation for the upcoming month of Ramadan.

The portal is aimed at facilitating the management of cash Fitr Zakat payments, particularly for individuals who face difficulties using online payment services.

According to Zakat House, the portal will help strengthen and standardize the system of collecting cash Zakat through island councils and Zakat House, ensuring a seamless and unified process nationwide.

Through the portal, Zakat House will be able to:

  • Instantly view cash Fitr Zakat transactions collected across the country
  • Monitor the total and valid amounts of Fitr Zakat received daily through both cash payments and other online platforms

Zakat House said the portal will support the timely and equitable distribution of Fitr Zakat to eligible recipients across the Maldives, in accordance with Islamic Shariah.

The distribution will be completed no later than the end of Ramadan, as required under Islamic rulings.

The launch of the Fitr Portal marks an important step in Zakat House’s ongoing efforts to improve accessibility, transparency and efficiency in the delivery of Zakat services nationwide.
