Elderly accident victim in Eydhafushi passes away

An elderly person who got injured in a road accident on January 15 in B. Eydhafushi has passed away. 

AbuBakuru Abdulla, 83, of Seasonge, B. Eydhafushi succumbed to his injuries while under treatment. 

AbuBakuru passed away this morning, while he had been hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit at IGMH. 

Funeral prayers for AbuBakuru will be held after Asr prayers today. 

On the evening of the accident, AbuBakuru was walking on the street with the aid of a walking stick after Maghrib prayers when a pickup truck struck him, knocking him down and driving over him, resulting in severe injuries. 

He was initially rushed to the Baa Atoll Hospital, but was later transferred to the capital as he needed more intensive care. 

The pickup driver has been arrested, and Police are conducting an investigation.
