MACL to hold blood donation camp

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced that they will be holding their annual blood donation camp next week.

MACL stated that the initiative is intended to provide blood donations to the Maldives Blood Service (MBS). 

The MACL blood donation camp will be help on Saturday and Sunday next week. 

This year, in addition to MACL staff, the camp is open to staff of State institutions, companies and resorts working at the airport.

MACL explained that the purpose of this is to boost blood donations, following a public appeal from the Maldives Blood Service due to declining reserves and the annual drop in donations during Ramadan.

Maldives Blood Service issued a public appeal seeking blood donations last Thursday. Their social media post stated that they are in need of donations of all blood groups. 

Interested donors can donate blood at the Maldives Blood Service between 8am and 8pm on all official working days.
