Youth arrested in Hulhumale' with half a kilo of drugs

A 22 year old man has been arrested in Hulhumale' in a drug operation conducted by police, with half a kilo of drugs found in his possession. 

Police said today that the operation, part of the larger anti-drug Alimagu Operation, was carried out last Monday based on intelligence reports received by the Counter Narcotics Intelligence unit. The man arrested in the operation has been identified as Ibrahim Amru Thaufeeq, 22, of SIFCO Hiyaa 0801 B.

Amru is accused of possession, use and sale of drugs. 

A search conducted during the arrest led to the discovery of 500g of drugs, Police said. 

The court has placed Amru in remand in custody for five days.
