A new registry has been made for Hulhumale' Phase 3 plot holders, with Gulhifalhu plot holders being given another opportunity to sign their agreements.

As per an announcement made by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure today, with the change that was brought to Hulhumale' Phase 3's Land Use Plan, plots that have been given away in said area will see new changes. Lots were drawn once again between those who received plots on 20th December.

The state land registries that were handed over were revoked, with new registries to be handed over, as per the ministry's announcement. They also said that arrangements have been made for those who have not been able to sign their plot agreements for them to come in and sign and claim them.

The announcement reads that interested parties can now go to the Hiyaavehi Portal from 26th January until 15th March to request an appointment to claim the state land registry.

The ministry stated that in relation to the change that was brought to the Gulhifalhu Land Use Plan, those who have not signed the agreement and claimed the plot registry will also be given an additional opportunity to do so.

Said individuals can head over to the Hiyaavehi Portal and request an appointment, as per the announcement.

Documents to be submitted when making a request via the Hiyaavehi Portal:

  • ID card copy of a witness who can be present during the agreement signing
  • ID card copy of the attorney and Power of Attorney document that has been signed in the presence of a public notary or registered at a court of law
  • Copy of the previous state land agreement which has been signed
  • Copy of the state land registry which has been handed over to the plot owner

Prior to this newly announced opportunity, the ministry had also extended the final opportunity to sign the agreement last year.

Under the BInveriyaa Scheme, the previous government had decided to hand over 9,031 plots to Male' residents from Hulhumale', Gulhifalhu and Giraavaru Falhu. Most of the said plots have already been handed over.
