Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu has revealed today that over 1,900 students have been enrolled in Shaheed Ali School, newly developed for the 2026 academic year.
Speaking to media about final preparations to inaugurate Shaheed Ali School, the Minister said that 1,950 students have been registered for various grades at the school.
The school will operate in two sessions, and employs 230 teachers, the minister said.
The minister emphasized that Shaheed Ali School is now recognized as the most modern educational facility in the Male' area, noting that all preparations have been finalized to ensure a smooth start to the academic year tomorrow.
Shaheed Ali School is the first school developed by this administration in the Male' region.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the project to develop the school in December 2023. The project was contracted to RCC on June 27, 2021.
Shaheed Ali School will be teaching Grades 1 through 10, and has 54 classrooms designed to cater to 32 students each.
The school features a 400-seat auditorium, a library, a computer lab, three chemistry laboratories, as well as both indoor and outdoor halls. The building is also equipped with three elevators, each accommodating up to 20 students.
The Education Minister announced today that schools have completed preparations and are ready to commence the academic year tomorrow.
