The Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage has announced a special cooking competition to mark the upcoming month of Ramadan.
According to the announcement made last Thursday, interested participants can join the competition for preparing Ramadan-specific foods before next Wednesday.
A dedicated portal has also been introduced for this purpose.
The judging for the competition is scheduled to take place next Saturday.
The Ministry has released a list of categories that can be entered into the competition, which includes:
- Havaadhu (spice mix for curry)
- Asaara / Murubba (Pickles and preserves)
- Kekki fani / Kandhi (sweetened porridge and traditional porridge)
- Satani / Mashuni / Bondibai (Salads, traditional fish mixes, and sweet rice)
- Hedhikaa (Short eats)
