Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has instructed residents of flats under its management to clear items from corridors and common areas that may inconvenience the public.

HDC stated that it has come to their notice that bicycles, furniture, shoe racks and other such items are being stored in the corridors, reminding that this is prohibited. HDC gave residents two days to clear such items, warning they will be removed by the company if not.

In an announcement, HDC said that they have been receiving complaints from members of the public about items being kept in corridors and common areas.

The company added that storing items in such spaces hinders upkeep and maintaining cleanliness, as well as affecting resident's safety and overall security. It is also against the policy on use of common areas and facilities, they said.

In it's announcement, HDC directed residents to clear all such items within two days, warning that non-compliance would lead to company removal, with no liability for damage or loss.
