We do not delay in responding to candidate applications: EC

The Elections Commission (EC) stated yesterday that they respond earlier than the allotted time frame to those who submit their candidacy applications for the upcoming Local Council Election.

In the press release regarding accusations in delayed responses to the applications, the EC said that the commission would make a decision and get back to those who submit their candidacy forms within five days, as per the Local Council Elections Act.

The press release states that the commission has been sending out responses even sooner than the five-day time frame as applications keep coming in.

"We assure the public that the information within the systems that have been established by the commission is a system that has been designed for use by those who are authorized to in the necessary cases," as was said by the EC.

Regarding the services they provide, the commission appealed that no information that may cause dissatisfaction be spread to the public.

The Local Council and Women's Development Committee Elections will be held on 4th April.
