PNC launches door to door campaign in Male'

Local council elections and women’s development committee elections are scheduled for 4 April. A total of 681 councillors and 681 women’s development committee members will be elected nationwide.

The ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) has launched a door to door campaign across Male' area to mobilize support for its candidates contesting the Male' City Council elections.

The campaign, which began on today at the party’s headquarters in Male', aims to rally backing for PNC candidates running for the mayor and council seats. As part of the initiative, candidates will visit households across all neighborhoods of Male' to listen to residents’ concerns, answer questions and explain their policies.

The campaign will also be carried out in Hulhumale’, the party said.

Speaking at the launch, PNC campaign manager and parliamentary group leader Ibrahim Falah called on the party’s candidates for island councils and women’s development committees to take part in the Male' campaign.

Falah said President Dr Mohamed Muizzu wanted to work closely with the public, adding that the purpose of the initiative was to engage directly with residents, understand their living conditions and relay their concerns to the government.

He also said Jaleel, the party’s candidate for Male' Mayor, would follow the President’s approach to leadership, describing him as sincere and committed to serving the people.
