The search is still on for the foreign crew member, one of two individuals reported missing after the Balma-6 boat capsized near Taj Exotica Resort in Kaafu atoll yesterday morning.
Four persons were aboard the vessel at the time of the incident. Two were rescued from sea by a passing boat, and MNDF commenced a search for the other two: a Maldivian and a foreigner.
The body of the Maldivian reported missing was later found in the sea near Taj Exotica Resort. The deceased has since been identified as Ali Hussain, 60, of B. Hithaadhoo.
An MNDF media official confirmed that the foreigner is still missing, and authorities are continuing the search.
MNDF Male' Area Command Coastguard Second Squadron, a Coastguard divers team, and police are active at the scene, MNDF said.
MNDF also appealed to those traveling in the area to exercise caution as debris from the capsized boat are adrift in the area.
