The campaign center for the former Chief of Defence Force and former Defence Minister Moosa Ali Jaleel, who is contesting the Malé City Mayoral seat on the ticket of the ruling party, PNC, was opened tonight.
The center for Moosa Ali Jaleel, who is competing for the mayoralty in the council elections scheduled for April 4, was opened on the ground floor of the PNC office located across from Artificial Beach.
The center was officially opened during a special ceremony held tonight by Moosa Ali Jaleel, alongside Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef and the Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Abdul Raheem Abdulla.

Speaking at the ceremony, Moosa Ali Jaleel stated that this was not just his campaign office. He noted that "it can be used by all candidates contesting on behalf of the PNC in the upcoming council elections."
As the race for Malé Mayor intensifies, the current Mayor Adam Azim is contesting on the opposition MDP ticket, while former Tender Board member Ismail Zariyand is also in the race.
Moosa Ali Jaleel, who served in the military for 32 years and retired in February 2012 before serving as Defence Minister during former President Abdulla Yameen’s administration, was awarded the Grand Order of Military Honour (Nishan Askaree Verikamuge Izzath) in November 2024.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu conferred this honor upon him in recognition of his invaluable military service for the security of the Maldivian nation and its people, as well as his efforts to protect and maintain the country’s independence and sovereignty.
