During a session held by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child to review the 6th and 7th combined periodic reports submitted by the Maldives in 2021 under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Usham remarked that the Convention serves as a guide for the laws, policies, and development efforts of Maldives.

Usham added that the current administration will endeavor to improve relevant systems and create a respectful, safe environment that enables kids to flourish.
