Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu has assured today that all books will be issued to students and teachers ahead of school reopening on January 27.
Delays in receiving textbooks, sometimes even after school reopens, is a constant complaint from parents. However, Minister Shafeeu expressed confidence that this year, books will be issued before the academic year begins.
Shafeeu stated that this year, efforts had begun ahead to deliver books to schools across the atolls and in the Male' area.
In previous years, the ministry issued books to Male' region schools from the old Arabiyya School building, but this year distribution has shifted to Aminiya School as Arabiyya is under demolition.
The school holidays began on December 25, with schools set to reopen in two more weeks, on January 27.
