The government has officially published the allocation policy and opened applications for the 100 housing units constructed in Th. Vilufushi.
According to an announcement made by the Ministry of Housing today, the application window will remain open from today until April 11, 2026.
The policy stipulates that these housing units each consist of three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen.
Each unit is built on a 2,000-square-foot plot of state land, with the built-up area of the unit itself measuring 1,204.69 square feet.
The eligibility criteria allow both registered residents of Vilufushi and those who have lived on the island for at least 10 years to apply for the housing units. The allocation will be determined through a points-based system, with the 100 highest-scoring applicants being selected.
The policy grants the highest points to applicants with three or more children; points are awarded at a rate of five points per child up to three children, with a maximum cap of 20 points for family size.
In addition, single mothers, single fathers, and individuals serving as legal guardians for children under state care are eligible for an extra 10 points.
