Foreigners involved in airport brawl released after advise

Police have released a group of foreign nationals involved in a physical altercation at Velana International Airport after advising them not to repeat the incident.

A police media official said the clash between two groups occurred in the taxi queue area of the airport and was reported at 12:15 am. on Thursday night.

The official said those involved were brought in, their details recorded, and they were given advice before being released.

“Police are investigating the case,” the official said.

Police did not disclose the nationalities or other details of the individuals involved.

Video footage circulating online shows one man jumping and kicking another while they were standing in the taxi queue. Airport security personnel were also seen present at the scene.
