Majeedhiyya School, the oldest school in continuous operation in the Maldives, will celebrate its 99th anniversary with a Maahefun.
Registration is now open for the Maahefun, titled “Majeedhiyya 99”, according to the school’s Alumni Association. Tickets are priced at MVR 99 and can be purchased through a dedicated section on the Alumni Association’s website.
The Maahefun, a long standing tradition held ahead of Ramadan, provides an opportunity for former students to reconnect with one another and strengthen ties between alumni and current students of Majeedhiyya School.
The Alumni Association said this year’s event also marks an important step towards the school’s 100th anniversary, celebrating the historic achievements of generations of students and teachers.
Majeedhiyya School was established on April 19, 1927, and will mark its 99th anniversary in April this year.
The government has also decided to celebrate 100 years of formal education in the Maldives, coinciding with the school’s centenary milestone.
