Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has today appointed former Cabinet Minister Abdulla Kamaludheen as the Chief Executive Officer of the "Maumoon Foundation." Following a meeting with Kamaludheen, President Maumoon expressed his full confidence in the appointment, stating that he trusts Kamaludheen's extensive experience and leadership will bring significant progress and success to the foundation's initiatives.

The Maumoon Foundation, which was established on January 26, 2010, has already benefited from Abdulla Kamaludheen's contributions for some time.

Kamaludheen has been a steadfast ally of the former president throughout his political career, continuing to work closely with him even after Maumoon's presidency ended. His loyalty is reflected in his active roles within the political parties founded by Maumoon, including the Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) and the Maldives Reform Movement (MRM).

Among the former presidents of the Maldives, Maumoon remains one of the most active in social and community work.

Through his foundation, he leads numerous high-impact initiatives, such as providing scholarships for higher education and playing a central role in various religious endeavors.

Just this week, the Maumoon Foundation signed an agreement with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to undertake the renovation and preservation of the Islamic Center, one of the most iconic landmarks built during Maumoon's 30-year tenure. The foundation also confirmed that President Maumoon will continue to deliver speeches at religious events hosted by the Ministry at the Islamic Center.
