Maumoon Foundation to aid Islamic Centre renovation

An agreement has been signed today under which former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom's Maumoon Foundation will provide assistance to renovate the Islamic Centre. 

Maumoon Foundation announced that this agreement has been signed between the foundation and the Islamic Ministry. 

The agreement was signed by Maumoon Foundation's Chairman, former President Gayoom, and Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed. 

Under the agreement, the Maumoon Foundation will draft plans to renovate the Islamic Centre, extend the building's lifespan, and secure both local and foreign assistance for the project. 

President Gayoom will also be speaking at religious functions hosted at the Islamic Centre, the foundation said. 

Further, copies of religious books penned by Gayoom are to be made available at the Islamic Centre's library. 

Maumoon Foundation also said that the Islamic Ministry will be providing support for religious and social activities organized by the foundation, as well as with the formation of the digital archive and library of the foundation.
