President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said the year ahead will bring tangible progress towards fulfilling the aspirations of Maldivians, in remarks marking the New Year.
In his address, President Muizzu said Maldivians had consistently demonstrated a commitment to development, prosperity and progress throughout the country’s history.
He added that the administration’s primary responsibility was to develop capable and principled citizens while advancing the national development agenda, with the aim of positioning the Maldives among developed nations.
The president noted that the new year also marks 900 years since the Maldives embraced Islam, describing the anniversary as a milestone of deep significance for the current generation.
He said the New Year offered an opportunity for reflection on the contributions individuals can make to themselves, their communities and the nation, and a chance to renew commitment to the collective well-being of society.
