The government’s Aasandha scheme will cover all costs for the treatment of mental illnesses starting tomorrow, NSPA said.
National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has launched five key programs in the social protection and health sectors to implement President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s key campaign pladges.
The initiatives were inaugurated at a ceremony held at Dharumavantha Hospital by Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim and Social and Family Minister Dr Aishath Shiham.
Under the program, all expenses for treating mental health conditions including therapy services provided in private hospitals and clinics will be covered by Aasandha.
NSPA said the move reflects the government’s emphasis on expanding access to mental health care.
