Reading nook built at Hiyaa Park

A reading nook has been built at Hiyaa Park, located in the middle of the Hiyaa Towers at Hulhumale' Phase 2, with the nook having opened today.

As per a statement from the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the nook is meant for people who go to the park to sit and relax while reading a book.

HDC stated that there are books specially for kids between the ages of one to six and six to 10 years old, teen fiction books, books to learn the Dhivehi language, cooking, lifestyle, and religious books as well.

HDC said that those who go to the park and wish to read may take a book from the nook and read it anywhere in the park, with HDC requesting the book be put back before they leave the park.

The reading nook will be open every day from 8:30am to 8:00am.

"This is an important project for the betterment of mental health, increasing community engagement in Hulhumale' and for those who have an interest in reading," HDC's statement read.

HDC also said that they work to ensure that Hulhumale' is a place that is comfortable and has been established with modern resources.
