Individual arrested in drug use and smuggling case

Police have apprehended an individual during their operation to bring an end to the use and trade of drugs.

Police stated durinf the operation that was run by the Counter Narcotics Intelligence and Drug Enforcement, Mohamed Nadheem (41 years old, H. Brown House) had been arrested. He is accused of drug usage, possession and smuggling drugs, police said.

As per the police, Nadheem was arrested, with his apartment in Hulhumale' having been searched. Even though the police said that they had found what is suspected to be drugs, along with money, they did not provide any further details. 

He was placed in remand for five days when he was brought to court regarding his prison sentence in the case.

On Wednesday, 12 people were arrested in a drug operation where more than a kilogram of drugs were found.
