Ministry of Higher Education has said it has not received any complaints from students studying abroad regarding non-payment of monthly stipends.

The statement follows claims circulating on social media that some Maldivian students studying in Australia had not received their stipends.

Responding to queries, a ministry official told Mihaaru News that the matter was reviewed after the claims emerged online, but no student in Australia or any other country had filed a complaint regarding this matter.

The official said the ministry would nevertheless look into the issue if any students had not received their payments.
