Four arrested after drugs seized in Male' guesthouse and apartment raid

Four people have been arrested after police recovered drugs during a raid on a guesthouse and an apartment in Male'.

The arrests were made in a joint operation by the Drug Enforcement Department and Counter Narcotics Intelligence, following a tip-off that drugs were being used and possessed at the locations.

Police said a total of 377.39 grams of drugs were seized during the operation.

Those arrested include three Maldivian men and a foreign national. They are:

Hassan Anas was remanded in custody for 15 days, while Moosa Shaheem and Hussain Sharuvan were remanded for five days each.

Nisha Raai was initially remanded for one day when the suspects were first produced in court. She was subsequently given a further one day remand for a second court appearance. At her third appearance, the court ordered that she be remanded in custody for five days.
