Most flights from Dubai to Maldives have been delayed due to heightened wind speeds and heavy rains.

Dubai International Airport (DIA), considered to be the world's busiest airport, is seeing flights unable to take off for long periods of time, resulting in flights to Maldives being delayed as well.

International news outlets report that multiple flights via Dubai and Sharjah have been delayed, with some being canceled due to bad weather.

Due to heavy rain, thunder and lightning, Emirates Airlines have also canceled their 13 flights from DIA, with flights to Maldives and Colombo being included as well.

Roads in Dubai have been flooded due to the heavy rain, with bus services having come to a standstill as well.

With rain having been disrupting air travel since yesterday, weather agencies in United Arab Emirates have announced an Orange Alert to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and various areas in Sharjah.
