The land draw under the former government’s Binveriyaa housing scheme for Hulhumale' Phase 3 will be held on Saturday, the Ministry of Housing has announced.
The draw is scheduled to take place at 9:00 am at Kalaafaanu School.
According to the ministry, only one representative per land recipient will be allowed to enter the venue, and participants are required to bring their national identity cards.
The land allocation chart for the draw will be published on the Hiyaa portal, the ministry said.
The government has decided to reclaim 63 hectares of land in Hulhumale' Phase 3 to provide 1,351 residential plots. Of this, 31.5 hectares have already been reclaimed, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) said last Tuesday.
Reclamation work had earlier slowed but has since resumed at a faster pace after additional dredgers were brought in to accelerate progress.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said that once reclamation work in Hulhumalée' Phase 3 is completed, both dredgers will be deployed for the reclamation of Giraavaru Falhu. He estimates that the Giraavaru Falhu reclamation project will be completed within two to three months.
