Minister Zameer recovers after critical surgery

Finance Minister Moosa Zameer has undergone a critical surgery in Singapore today. 

The Finance Ministry announced today that Minister Zameer underwent a critical medical surgery. They noted it was a planned procedure deemed necessary at this time. 

The surgery was successful and the Minister is currently admitted in hospital, the ministry said, adding he is in recovery and his condition is stable. 

Zameer will be returning back to office next week, they said. 

Zameer's absence at the President's meeting last night with residents of Male's Galolhu ward prompted a question from a member of the public. The President is also scheduled to meet with small and medium business operators tonight. 

In July 2016, while serving as Tourism Minister, Zameer underwent an angioplasty as well.
