Consultants being sought for Rasmale' Transport Masterplan

Interested consultancy companies are to send in their documents that highlight their capabilities by 24th December, 2:00pm. The company is also to submit details of past work and employee skills and abilities.

The government announced yesterday that they are seeking consultants to create a transport masterplan for Rasmale', which is being reclaimed as part of the solution for the housing crisis.

As per the announcement from the Ministry of Finance and Planning, the purpose in coming up with the Rasmale' Transport Masterplan is to establish a sustainable transport system between Rasmale' and Male, and in Rasmale' itself as well.

Interested consultancy companies are to send in their documents that highlight their capabilities by 24th December, 2:00pm. The company is also to submit details of past work and employee skills and abilities.

As per the announcement from the ministry, the Terms of Reference is now available from the ministry's website.

A company for the project will be chosen under the "Quality and Cost Based Selection Contractor" regulation.

Regarding Rasmale', the biggest project from this government in finding permanent solutions to the housing crisis for the Male' region, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that one of two of the largest trailer suction hopper dredgers are being used to reclaim land for Rasmale'.

As per President Muizzu, under his "dream project" to find a permanent solution for the housing crisis, Rasmale' is being developed as a 100 percent net zero carbon, smart eco city. The President said that it is the biggest climate adaptation project in Maldives as of yet.
