Galolhu North MP Mohamed Ibrahim (Kudu) has asked the government to introduce a rule allowing motorcycle owners to pause payment of the annual vehicle fee if their bike is stolen.

In a letter to Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen, MP Mohamed highlighted a rise in motorcycle thefts and called for financial relief for affected owners.

He proposed that annual fees should be waived until the stolen motorcycle is recovered, provided the theft is reported to the police. He also suggested that recovered motorcycles be restored to the registry where they were originally registered, with the police report submitted to the transport department.

Additionally, MP Mohamed requested a special traffic regulation near schools during school hours, aimed at easing congestion and improving safety for students and parents.
