Police resume towing of illegally parked vehicles in Male’

The police urged residents to use designated parking zones and warned that they are not liable for any damage resulting from towing.

Police have resumed towing vehicles parked illegally on the streets of Male’ City, targeting vehicles obstructing traffic at zebra crossings and street entrances.

Police said such vehicles will be removed and taken to designated police locations. Vehicle owners are responsible for retrieving their cars after they have been towed.

The police urged residents to use designated parking zones and warned that they are not liable for any damage resulting from towing.

This follows a similar operation in Hulhumale’ last Wednesday.

Authorities occasionally tow vehicles in Male’ due to irregular parking.

Under Article 14(g) of the Road Traffic Act, violators face fines of MVR 750, except in cases where a parking violation sticker has already been affixed.
