Cafe' shut down for illegal tobacco sales

One outlet has been shut down for illegal sale of tobacco products. Tobacco products can now only be sold through a special permit.

Authorities found the cafe' to be engaged in illegal tobacco sales during a joint operation by the Economic Ministry, Police, Immigration and Customs targeting unlawful businesses.

Six separate outlets were searched during the operation. 

Police did not say whether any persons were arrested in this operation. 

Last week, the Economic Ministry appealed to the public to report any illegal businesses being run in the country by expatriates. The ministry revealed that they received 29 reports within 14 hours of the announcement.
