Hussain Sunny Umar, a key figure at "The Travel Guys Private Limited," has been arrested today under a court order following allegations of child sexual abuse, as he was suspected of attempting to leave the Maldives after initially promising to cooperate with the investigation.

Sunny Umar, who was a prominent figure in the PR firm operating a Halal Tourism brand travel agency and a travel industry media outlet, is being investigated following a complaint lodged by the child's family, police confirmed. While there are allegations of Sunny Umar sexually abusing several children, the police are currently investigating the case based on the complaint concerning one child.

When allegations against Sunny Umar emerged, rumors suggested he had fled the Maldives. He was brought in for questioning after arriving at Velana International Airport (VIA), then released, but faced suspicion of attempting to leave again.

The police confirmed his initial custody and subsequent release, and stated he agreed to cooperate with the investigation. However, he was re-arrested on court orders linked to an alleged child sex abuse case. Following these allegations, The Travel Guys announced that they would seize his shares, though these shares had not been sold to another party.

The company also clarified that "Travelution Media," another entity associated with them, has operated under an international team without Umar's daily involvement.
