A Saudi delegation, including top business leaders, arrived in the Maldives yesterday for investment talks.
The delegation is headed by Saudi Investment for International Relations Deputy Minister Sara Al-Sayed.
The delegation arrived in Maldives on Monday afternoon. It includes leading business representatives and senior officials of the Saudi government.
The Saudi Embassy in Maldives stated that during the three day visit, the delegation will meet with several Maldivian government officials and engage in discussions on expanding investments between Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
It has also been reported that an invest forum will be held to share details of investment opportunities in Maldives with the delegation.
Saudi Arabia is an important partner in Maldives' social and infrastructural development. Saudi Fund has consistently provided assistance to Maldives in its sustainable development projects, including major projects on water and sewerage and infrastructural development.
The Saudi Fund also extended loan assistance towards one of Maldives' largest projects, the development of Velana International Airport.
Relations between Saudi Arabia and Maldives has been further strengthened under the current administration.
