Over 360,000sqft of Bandara Kilhi in Fuvahmulah has been destroyed in a fire incident last night.
The fire broke out at 10pm Saturday night, with MNDF's Fire & Rescue team, Police, council staff and members of the public working till 1:30am to put the fire out. The council said that by the time the fire was controlled, 360,586sqft of Bandara Kilhi had been destroyed.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Despite the fire having been put out, the council appealed to the public to immediately notify MNDF should any signs of fire be seen in the area again.
This is the first nature park opened in the country. The park was opened on September 14, 2018.

The nature park covers Dhadimagu Kilhi, adjoining marshes and wetland, Dhiguvaadu Hoadhadu wetland boardwalk, Bandara Kilhi, adjoining marshes, and the boardwalk on Kodakilhi, Malegan, and Funaadu.
