Criminal Court has today sentenced Raudh Ahmed Zilal to 27 days in prison for the charge of failing to assist a person in need without a justifiable reason. 

Raudh was the last person seen with Hawwa Yumn Rasheed the night before she fell from high-rise H. Fentenoy onto the roof of adjacent H. Mitaaz in April. 

The charge was brought against Raudh for being aware that Yumn had fallen from the building, but leaving the site without having provided assistance in any form. 

The minimum sentence for this charge is 1 month and 6 das in prison. However, as Raudh pled guilty and the prosecution had not sought a harsher sentence, the sentence was reduced to 27 days, the court said. 

Although Raudh received a 27-day prison term, the court ruled his time in remand during the investigation counts as time served. Thus, his sentence is complete, and he is now free.
