Parliament approves five appointments to Tax Appeal Tribunal

Parliament today approved the appointment of five members to the Tax Appeal Tribunal, ahead of the expiry of the current members’ terms next Saturday.

The President’s Office had opened nominations for the posts, and seven shortlisted candidates were interviewed by the Judiciary Committee, which awarded scores and forwarded its highest-ranked nominees to the floor.

MPs approved five of the seven candidates in separate votes. All five were approved unanimously by members present.
