A staff member at the National Drug Agency (NDA) has been arrested over the use and possession of drugs.

As per the remand order issued by the Criminal Court, the 42 year old was arrested after a cellophane packet suspected of containing drugs was found in some possessions he dropped.

The Investigative Officer stated in court that the accused's urine tests returned positive for THC.

The accused stated in court that he wishes to appoint a lawyer, that he is employed by the NDA, and that he is the father of young children.

The court ordered that he be placed in remand in custody for five days, stating Police had submitted some evidence to prove that the crime had been committed.

Last week, Mohamed Faseeh, a peer mentor at NDA was arrested for giving drugs to clients seeking rehab treatment at NDA and sexually exploiting them.
