Fenaka Corporation Managing Director Mohamed Najah said today that two years into the current government, the company is still unstable due to the severity of past negligence within the company.
While answering questions posed by the Parliament's Committee on Environment and Climate Change at a meeting, Najah said that one of the biggest challenges Fenaka faced was not having kept documentation from companies that had provided Fenaka with services and goods. He stated that documentation is unavailable for some of the work done by the previous government, with it currently being difficult to do certain work such as ascertaining as to who had brought in fake goods.
"The negligence at the time was quite high. It was so high that the current government still has not been able to stabilize the company for two years. In reality, the company has complete funds. We are not a company that works in order to make major profits. Even so, we are able to bring in enough money where we can properly provide services without interruption," said Najah.
He went on to say that Fenaka is facing difficulties due to the lack of quality in some of the goods that were brought in previously. He gestured to some of the generators that have been set up in Addu as an example.

"None of the generators that have been set up in Addu by us in this government have broken. However, generators from the previous government keep breaking down frequently, requiring constant repair," said Najah.
Najah stated that they are working on reducing company expenses, with them looking at the market rate when trying to acquire goods and services for the company.
He also said that they may hire more employees, but that will be specifically for projects under contract basis.
