The High Commission of Malaysia to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, in collaboration with Velana Beach Hotel Maafushi, is hosting the 'Malaysia Food & Culture Evening' in Maafushi from 4pm on November 22, Saturday.
The event, to be held at Velana Beach Hotel in Maafushi, falls under Malaysia's Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026) nationwide campaign.
According to the High Commission, VM2026 emphasizes eco-tourism, cultural experiences, digital innovation and enhanced global connectivity.
The cultural evening is part of a series of events organized in the Maldives by the High Commission under this theme.

The High Commission stated that the event will feature cultural dance troupes, as well as authentic fruits and food from Malaysia with the aim of raising awareness and strengthening tourism ties between Maldives and Malaysia.
"These efforts follow strengthened Malaysia-Maldives cooperation in tourism - particularly in Muslim-friendly tourism - and aim to position Malaysia as a preferred travel destination for Maldivians," the High Commission stated.
Visitors to Saturday's Malaysia Food & Culture Evening stand to win special gifts, including free tickets to Kuala Lumpur. The event is open to all and has no admission fee.
