Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) said today that the new Primary Healthcare Center will begin their services this Saturday.
As per a statement released by IGMH, the medical center, which was inaugurated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu yesterday, will offer services such as general health knowledge, medical checkups and treatment of illnesses.
The center has been established next to STO's head office, with a GP Clinic, a Child Health Clinic and a Wellness Clinic being established in order to treat general illnesses. IGMH said that the center will be open daily from 8:30am to 10:00pm, with the time being different on Friday, opening at 3:30pm and ending at the same time at 10:00pm.

- Access to a family medical practitioner
- Treatment of general illnesses
- Testing done based on GP doctor recommendations
- Prescription renewal
- Can conduct small procedures
- X-rays

Child Health Clinic services
- Assessing growth development of children below five years of age and checking developmental milestones
- Information session for parents on breastfeeding and child nutrition
- Giving Vitamin-A and medication to children between 2 to 5 years of age
- Administering vaccines in accordance with the National Vaccine Schedule
- Administering optional vaccines
Wellness Clinic services
- Administering vaccines to travelers
- Providing assistance to those who want to quit smoking
- Mental health counselling
- Introduction of healthy habits
In order to reduce queues at IGMH, the government thought to open GP Clinics in various areas in Male'. While it has been decided to develop three centers in Male' and two in Hulhumale', this is the first center to be established within the program.
