HDC warns of scam involving sale of stalls in Hulhumale'

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has warned the public to be cautious of scams involving the sale of stalls for events in Hulhumale'.

In a statement, HDC said it has received reports of individuals and groups selling stalls for fairs and other events without obtaining the corporation’s permission.

The public is urged to verify authorization before making any payments by contacting HDC’s Permits and Services Section at 3336112.

HDC stressed that it will not be responsible for any financial losses incurred from purchasing stalls for unapproved events.

The corporation noted that the allocation of venues for fairs, night markets and street markets in Hulhumale' has been suspended since May 14.

In September, HDC had also issued a notice warning against unauthorized events and urging the public to remain alert to scams conducted in the company’s name.
