Thousands of supporters gathered at the large rally organized by the ruling
Progressive National Congress (PNC) at the Artificial Beach area tonight,
filling the surrounding roads and demonstrating widespread support for
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
As President Muizzu and the First Lady arrived at the
Artificial Beach area for the massive rally, which drew a large number of
people from across the Maldives to Malé, the entire area was packed.
Accompanying President Muizzu and the First Lady as they
greeted supporters were Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef, PNC Chairperson
and Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla, and Deputy Speaker of
Parliament Ahmed Nazim.

The PNC leadership has stated that this is the largest
political gathering held in the Maldives in recent history. The party's
Chairperson, Abdul Raheem, previously stated that tonight's rally would clearly
show which leader the Maldivian people desire.

With supporters arriving via sea and charter flights,
some party supporters on social media claimed that this would be one of the
largest gatherings ever held by a ruling party.
The PNC stated that the main purpose of tonight's rally
is to demonstrate support for President Muizzu's government as it prepares to
mark its two-year anniversary this coming Monday.
Due to the rally, the road in front of the Artificial
Beach, stretching up to Henveiru Stadium, was completely closed. Driving
four-wheeled vehicles was prohibited from the stadium towards Janavaree Magu.
Furthermore, the two-way road along Henveiru Stadium was closed to four-wheeled
vehicles, with traffic allowed only in one direction, from the Carnival side
towards Majeedhee Magu.
