Fire breaks out in Farukolhufushi

A fire has broken out in a building in Farukolhufoshi, adjoined to Hulhumale' Phase 2. 

It is not clear as of yet which building caught fire in Farukolhufushi, which was earlier used as a resort. 

MNDF said that they received reports of the incident at around 1pm, and that officers are now attempting to put the fire out. 

The fire appeared to be intense at first, but firefighters have managed to control the flames. Currently, thick smoke is visible in the area. 

No further details regarding the incident have come to light yet.
